Krav Maga is a Hebrew term that translates ‘contact combat’ or ‘close combat’ and it refers to the official Israeli Military’s close-quarters-combat system. It is an eclectic martial art system that incorporates a wide range of techniques including strikes, takedowns and joint-locks. Krav Maga is not a sport, rather a highly refined close-quarter combat system that focuses on rendering the most amount of damage to an attacker in the least amount of time with the primary objective being survival.
The techniques of Krav Maga are designed to be effective regardless of a person’s size, strength, or gender.
Krav Maga training is simple and direct, teaching practitioners to aggressively target the weaknesses of the human anatomy while at the same time utilizing economy of motion. The result is a simple, yet highly effective system of self-defense that can be applied to counter an armed or unarmed attacker as well as multiple assailants.
This training combines cardio endurance, strength training and self-defense practice in a fun yet challenging way unlike any system of martial arts.
